Received my new Gerber Strongarm in BDZ-1. OooOOOoooo! I like it! Bladeops.com sells it for 69.99. Amazon is cheaper though. It's a compact little bigger isn't it. Same size as regular strong arm i do believe. If not theres not a great difference. I wasn't implying it was smaller than the other version.

Bdz-1 steel is essentially 14c28n iirc (or one of the Sandvik steels). Just from another steel company. It's a lil better in edge retention than the 420hc the original strong arm has. And iirc it also has a different tang or a full tang. I forgot how the marketing went, as well as a different blade.

If the size of the Strongarm is something you like, you'd love the Becker BK-16 (made by Ka-Bar). Similar blade profile/shape, but in a full flat grind instead of the saber grind of the Gerber. 1095 Cro-Van steel (like most Ka-Bars), and comes in a cool tactical style nylon sheath. I didn't particularly like the Cold Steel SRK.
